Fettes College

This was our first encounter with Fettes College-the main administration building and the center of campus. Fettes is a private school for children ages 7 through 18. Looks like something from Harry Potter! According to legend, James Bond, aka 007, was expelled as a youngster.





We were fortunate to have a tour of the main building. This is the chapel. Students are required to attend chapel as a part of their education.

Their library is well wired and in keeping with the building's Gothic architecture. This is Jim standing next to the fireplace.

The dorm where we stayed is named Kammerghame. It is a boys' dorm and was not appointed as well as the girls' dorms, but it was comfortable and suited our needs. It is reported that Tony Blair started here in 1967. The walls in the common areas are covered with class pictures, but the 1967 picture was conspicuously missing.
